Ozar explained the project's history, rationale, connection to the new National Catholic School Standards, leadership, goals, process to date, and early ideas for future dissemination of resources and collaboration with dioceses around the country. At the CCCII June 2012 working sessions in Atlanta, Mary Jane Krebbs, Ph.D., used these slides to provide participants with an overview of the Common Core State Standards and how these can and must connect to Catholic schools. Using the new National Catholic School Standards, Church teachings, and contemporary research, Krebbs made a compelling case for Catholic schools to adopt the Common Core Standards integrated with elements of Catholic identity.
